PrecisionFlux

v1.1 • Four-State Momentum Texture Classifier
"Did the move you're entering deserve the trust you're giving it?"

Overview

PrecisionFlux is a momentum texture classifier focused on evaluating pullback quality and structural integrity within active market conditions. Most indicators focus on completed movement. PrecisionFlux focuses on identifying conditions where pressure may be forming within current structure — and on filtering pullbacks by the quality of the move that preceded them.

Where most pullback detectors ask "did price pull back?", PrecisionFlux asks a different question: did price pull back while the underlying move was worth trusting? A pullback on a stock with real directional conviction behind it is a completely different condition than a pullback on a stock whose prior move was weak or wandering. Most indicators treat those situations identically. PrecisionFlux does not.

PrecisionFlux is an overlay indicator. It paints state labels directly on the chart and runs an internal ATR-based trail engine that anchors every state to underlying trend direction. It does not generate buy or sell signals — it surfaces texture and context.

How It Works

The Trail Engine

PrecisionFlux uses an internal ATR-based trailing stop as its structural anchor, inspired by SuperTrend methodology with original modifications:

Every directional state in PrecisionFlux is gated by trail direction. Bullish states only fire when the trail is bullish. Bearish states only fire when the trail is bearish. This reduces counter-trend signals by aligning states with the underlying trail direction.

Prior Move Quality

Before classifying any pullback as a RESET, PrecisionFlux looks back and evaluates the quality of the move leading into the pullback. Efficiency, range development, and structural displacement are all considered. If the prior move lacked directional quality, RESET will not fire — regardless of how clean the pullback looks on price alone. This is the single biggest difference between PrecisionFlux and conventional pullback detectors.

Post-Confirmation Suppression

Once a move enters sustained expansion, PrecisionFlux reduces output. THRUST and FLUX are not displayed during extended or parabolic conditions, where directional development is already established and additional state labels would add noise rather than clarity.

barsSinceFlip Window (gateFLUX)

FLUX is limited to a defined number of bars following a trail transition. This keeps FLUX focused on early structural shifts rather than persisting throughout established trends. The gate prevents FLUX from firing repeatedly during long, well-developed moves.

Cap Tier Intelligence

Auto mode detects volatility regime via ATR% and adjusts all state thresholds automatically. Small-Micro caps receive wider reset tolerance and longer window gates. Large caps and ETFs use tighter parameters. No manual tuning required across instruments.

State Engine

PrecisionFlux classifies momentum texture into four primary states plus a fallback condition. Every state requires the trail engine to be defined; bullish states require bullish trail direction, bearish states require bearish trail direction.

State Color Conditions & Meaning
THRUST Green Trail bullish, expansion active, efficient directional move confirmed. The move is alive and pushing. THRUST persists across all bars where expansion conditions remain valid.
RESET Cyan Trail bullish, structure intact, healthy pullback within a live trend. Prior move quality confirmed the move was real. Often associated with continuation conditions. Will not fire if the prior move lacked directional quality.
FLUX Yellow Trail defined, no expansion active, directional pressure building but not yet resolved. Early awareness state before potential expansion. Bull or bear flavor indicated by trail direction. Gated by barsSinceFlip window.
BREAKDOWN Red Trail bearish, structural displacement confirmed, persistence requirement met. This is not a pullback — structure has failed.
NEUTRAL Gray No active state. Common after parabolic moves or during post-move chop. Often reflects reduced directional clarity rather than structural failure.

RESET Dot Feature

The RESET Dot is an optional cyan plotchar marker placed below the bar to highlight the first bar of each new RESET sequence. It helps quickly identify pullback structure within active trends on busy charts without scanning bar-by-bar.

Setting Default Description
i_showResetDot ON Toggles the RESET Dot marker on or off
i_resetDotFirstOnly ON When enabled, plots only the first bar of each new RESET sequence. When disabled, plots on every RESET bar.

On charts with many RESET sequences across a long trend, the first-bar-only mode keeps the chart clean while still highlighting every pullback entry point. On sparse-activity charts, disabling first-only shows the full RESET duration.

How To Use

PrecisionFlux is designed to complement other forms of analysis. It does not provide trade signals or prescribe entries, exits, or direction.

Best Practices

What This Is Not

PrecisionFlux does not generate buy or sell instructions, place trades, or manage positions. State labels represent analytical observations of momentum texture and structural condition. All interpretation and application of this tool is the sole responsibility of the user.

Methodology Note

The internal trail engine is inspired by SuperTrend methodology. The HA blend price source, tier-adaptive multiplier scaling, re-anchor logic, prior-move quality evaluation, and state gating architecture are original implementations.
